Proof of address
Proof of address is one of the first English phrases Polish immigrants learn in the UK. Opening a bank account or registering with a GP requires proof of address, evidence that you live in the United Kingdom.
Documents accepted as proof of address by institutions include:
- A utility bill, for example, an electricity, gas or water bill (cannot be more than 3 months old)
- Council Tax Bill for the current tax year for the property you occupy.
- Bank Account Statement (cannot be more than 3 months old)
- Credit / Debit Card Account Statement (cannot be more than 3 months old)
- Current Tenancy Agreement
- Valid Driving License
